IT’S TIME FOR REAL CHANGE IN COLORADO
WHY?
-

Budget Crisis
Colorado’s budget cannot fund essential services that the people of Colorado depend on. This means that healthcare, education, child care, public safety, roads & bridges, affordable housing, and much more are being cut. Basic human needs are not being met and people are suffering. -

Medicaid Reform
Medicaid is an essential service that people with disabilities absolutely need to be sustainable. But the budget crisis and budget cuts are putting the most vulnerable people in our state in serious danger. Dramatic reform of Colorado’s Medicaid program is needed. -

Federal Cuts
The federal bill (H.R. 1) signed by the President on July 4th last year dramatically slashes federal funding for Medicaid starting January 2027. This will add even more stress to Colorado’s budget. It will put people with disabilities in even more danger. -

We Can Do Better
What Colorado has been doing isn’t working. People feel like they work for systems and government, not the other way around. A different approach is needed—one that puts people at the center and makes systems and government work for them.
PRIORITIES
-
Protect Taxpayer Dollars
Dave has worked to make sure taxpayer dollars are invested safely, transparently, and in a way that benefits working Coloradans – not wealthy hedge fund managers. His actions ensured Colorado maintains a strong credit rating and that we have the resources to fund critical programs like our schools and road and bridge repairs. -
Protect Colorado's Economy
As State Treasurer, Dave identified funding that was used to make $2.4 billion in infrastructure improvements, and he set-up a new, $250 million small business loan program to help Colorado grow and recover into a strong economy. -
Protect PERA
Dave helped improve the financial strength of the PERA retirement fund by $20 billion, from $40 billion up to $60 billion, which thousands of first responders and teachers rely on for their retirement security.
